Date formating

When I type "6 October 2003" and then CReturn Word adds
this "10-07" so that I get:

6 October 2003-10-07

How can I stop everobliging Word to not complete my
sentences for me.

Thank you, I had read that a "tip" was an advice, not a
proposed entry. Although I had never noticed any advice on
that line.
