Datasheet Alternating Shading of Rows

For enhanced readability, I'd like to shade the background
of alternating rows in a datasheet. So, row 1 would have a
background of white, row 2 would have a grey background,
etc.

I've looked into conditional formatting and datasheet
formatting, but there does not seem to be a way of
specifying formatting on alternate rows.
