When I try to open my database, I get an error saying "The Microsoft Jet
database engine stopped the process because you and another user are
attempting to change the same data at the same time."

No one else can/has used the database. Any idea as to why I am getting this
error? I am using Access 2003 on Windows XP.

NAS,

Sounds like an oops...

Try... navigating to the location of the database and seeing if you find the
..LDB file and delete it. If that doesn't work, then it's a big OOPS. Have
a look at....

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I looked for the LDB file but there
isn't one. Which makes me curious as to why it is saying that someone else is
attempting to make changes...

This error can come up when you have the database open and it gets closed
abnormally (powering down the computer, rebooting, locking up, ctrl-alt-del
and stopping the process, ...); the other user is the ghost of your previous
session.

Tony's webpage cited upthread may be able to help.

NAS,

Then big OOPS, as John explains... please review the link I posted as your
database is corrupt.

It says I need to import the objects and such into a blank database except
anything I try to do with the corrupt database gives me the same error,
whether I try to import its contents, open it, or give it the finger, nothing
seems to work. I guess I'm pretty much screwed right?

Nas,

Unfortunately, two words come to mind... back up... do you have one? But
yes, this is not a good day for you. On the bright side, here are some tips
to hopefylly prevent that from happening again...
