Hello; I am new to this forum so be patient with me>
Thank's My problem is that I have been using a data file
that was written in access and I have put the database
onto a cd R/W disk so that I can put it back into my
computer that has a new hard drive. So I put the data
base into the hard drive under access and lo and behold
the file got read only. And now I have the data but I can
no longer write to the files to make changes. Can anyone
tell me how to remove the read only attributes so that I
can write to the files and make the necessary changes? I
would appreacate any help. Thank you

Check the file write attribute. Files from CD end up as
read-only when copied to a HDD. You can reset to rw.
Right-click the file and change the attributes. You may have to log
on as the owner. Or log on as administrator (and perhaps take
ownership of the file) to be able to change the attributes.
