Eight Tables suddenly appeared on my Database Table listing:
MSysAccessObjects
MSysAccessXML
MSysACEs
MSysIMEXColumns
MsysIMECSpecs
MSys....etc, etc

From where and why have these uninvited Tables come from?
Do they serve any useful purpose? I have tried to delete them but they
reappear.

You or someone checked the Hidden Objects under Tools... Options... on the
Menu Bar. Access needs those, they hold information about the database ie,
table, query, macro, etc... names, export information and file specs, etc...
You really don't want to delete them. If they bother you uncheck the above
mentioned box!

Glynn,
First of all, they are not "uninvited Tables," whatever that means.
Microsoft invited them to the party <g>. They are the system tables that
Access uses to store a ton of vital information about your database --
information that you do NOT need to know about, in 99.9999999999999% of the
cases. For the most part, I would do what Gina suggested and keep them
hidden.
