Database sizing recommendations for shared BCM database?

Hi-
I've been trying to find some database sizing recommendations for a shared
instance of BCM. Are there any published recommendations on when it is/is
not ok to use SQL Express?
 
Check the BCM Team Blog site -- I don't remember if they have info or not.

Basically, your SQL Express database can be up to 4GB in size and then you
would need to go to SQL Standard. That's a lot of data, however, and
Communication History is where is really eats up space. We've got 35,000
contacts without much history and it's 2.5GB.

My experience is that if you have more data than will fit in Sql
Express then you probably need something more powerful than BCM, like
MSCRM. BCM was designed for high interactivity, so that one user's
changes show up immediately in another user's Outlook. That puts a lot
of stress on the database, and database performance degrades
proportionally to the amount of data to the point where BCM becomes
unresponsive because it is asking the database for fresh data faster
than the sql can respond.
