Hi,

I wonder if someone can help me please.

I am trying to set up user level security on a database that I have built at
work. Through replicating the database at home I've been able to do this, but
when I use the same process at work it doesn't work. I'm convinced it's the
permissions that are set on the network, which I don't have access to and to
be honest there is so much red tape to go thorugh it's not worth pursuing.

So what I'm looking for is another way of being able to set user level access
security. Can ayone tell me please, is this possible?

Many thanks

Chris

If nothing else for the time being use the Database Password function. This
will at least allow a temporary though very primary security solution.

If the IT guys are going to be hard nosed about who gets access to the
server, drop the whole user security process in their laps and they can do
it.
You'll be amazed at how fast you get the access you need.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I had put a password on, so I did have that basic security.

I did quite a bit of research on this last night and I actually found some VB
code that I've been able to adapt and have got to work on my db which gives
me the extra security I need.

Mind you it's taken some time to get it to work, so I think next time I'll
follow you're suggestion!

Many thanks and regards

Chris
