Database Results Background Q

Allan

I need to put a spreadsheet behind a webpage to collect contact info for a
club.

As I have looked into the Database Results wizard, and how to go about it...
Will the resulting code be a web page and an .xls file that I can post on my
ISP's site and it will work (write info to the spreadsheet)?

Or, (with the database connection stuff) does that only work if I turn my
own PC into a webserver, and run it all from there?

My question is, how portable is the solution?
My ISP runs in a windows 2000 environment, do I have to work with him too
closely, or... what can I do (not knowing ASP, or much custom coding...)
with the Database Results wizard?

Many thanks in advance
Allan

I'm not exactly clear on what you're trying to do but the FP database component requires a MS web server. Any MS web server will
generally run your application.

Although you can save FP form data to an .xls file, I would recommend that you use Access instead. There is a way to display DRW
results in Excel if your users require data in that format.

Thanks. To clarify more, I just didn't want to set up the full connection,
and DNS connection routine, etc. so I can go through the Database Results
wizard, and then have the resulting page only work on the machine it was
created on (since I don't have the skills to just write the interface).

I appreciate your reccomendation to use Access. No problem. I am very
familiar with Access. But please clarify your acronym "DRW" (?)
What does that mean?
