Dear all

I started designing a database just before leaving my previous job recently,
and I agreed to continue it at home then email it back when complete. Only
problem being - in work it resided on the work server, and now I've emailed
it home, I cannot get the options to work, it says that the network drive
doesn't exist or there's a problem.

I've tried to alter the drive location in tools->options, and even had a go
at simulating the network on my two computers via a nw cable.

Could someone tell me how to get this database to accept its' new location -
if indeed it is possible?

It's running on W2K with Access2K (same as the work source).

Many thanks, Mike

You can relink to the data tables to where ever the data exists. Of course
if you don't have anything but the front end, you'll need to get the data
tables from your ex-employer. That shouldn't be too hard to do if your he
still wants you tho finish the work.

Mike,

Although you didn't explicitly say, it sounds like your
problem is linking the Front End to the Back End which is
now in a new location. If this is the problem you are having
you need to use the Linked Table Manager, which could either
be under Tools/DatabaseUtilities or Tools/AddIns depending
on your version of Access. When you run that, check the
'Always Prompt For Location' and you should get a browse
window that will let you point to the new location.

If this is not the case, would it be a missing reference to
the 'options' you refer to? Open a code module and go to
Tools/References to make sure that none are marked as
missing.

Thanks Gary for your input, I managed to fix this via Alvin Meyer's
suggestion, but I am nevertheless grateful for your message as well!
