Hi helpers,

I'm creating my first database in FP 2002 to collect data from a form
and would like to know how the organization I'm doing this for will
retrieve the data. Will they log in to the site every day, open the fpdb
folder, then export the .mdb file to their drive, and work on it there,
setting up the report, etc.? I'm not too familiar with Access, and
they're not too adept with the computer in general, so hoping it will be
easy.

Thanks in advance, Mata

I was hoping the organization could access and use the .mdb file I
create in the fpdb directory without using FP. Can they not do that?

One other question: is it true that if I have the form input results go
to a database, that they can't be emailed as well, as they can be if I
have the results stored in html?

Thanks, Mata

As Andrew said - use the FrontPage Database Results Wizard.
This generates pages that allows your organisation to view the records
in the database using web pages.
The Database Interface Wizard (FP2002 and FP2003) will allow your
organisation to additionally edit and add records to the database,
again using web pages.

The only other way to access the database is to download it. The web
would have to be effectively disabled while the database is being
updated.

Ronx,

good explanation! thanks for also helping me.
Have a question too, which i allready have a thread for, but anyway.
Have FP 2003, creating a databased website, created Resultsform, database
editor and submitform.
After filled in submitform, upon clicking submit, i get the error that the
job has failed and i should contact the server-host if the problem keeps
occurring..
I know i do something wrong, but what? i'm going nuts with this.

Thanks for giving me an answer.
