"database already opened exclusively" message

Hi,

I generally get this error message "you attempted to open
a database that is already opened exclusively by user
Admin on machine ''. try again when the database is
available" even though I do not have it open on my
machine. I am the admin and it takes my name as having
this database open! Any suggestions as to what I can do to
resolve it instead of trying to go the extreme way of
closing the connection on the main server of the network
where the database resides.

Hi Ketaki

Try the following:

In Tools/Option/Advanced

the Default Record Lock should be set to Edited Record and the Default Open
Mode should be set to Shared.

Let us know if this works.
