That's one way to harvest information for their own purposes, possibly for sending spam.

Still, I suppose they had the good grace to let me know.

Just bought this for 12.99 from Play.com btw, it arrived yesterday.

Good catch. Not a lot of people pay attention to EULA, even though in some cases they state system data may be shared.

From time to time I play online games. Recently I came across a thread related to anti cheat software. The link below talks to the proliferation of a patch that collects and shares system data without user knowledge. It was identified as a real concern, and should be something we online game players pay heed.
