Data Validation

I am trying to use data validation between a list in one workbook and my
timesheet in another workbook. I have set up the list and have given it
a name already, I have also put that name in my timesheet in the data
validation window. All indications from the help menu suggest that this
is the way to go, but it is not working. The goal would be to enter new
job numbers into the list without having to go into each individual
timesheet. My coworkers are insisting on haveing a list box to choose a
job number and I am having trouble getting that to function without
putting the list of jobs in each persons timesheet. If there is an easy
way to do this I would appreciate someone telling me, if not, I am
somewhat skilled in Excel and might be able to follow instructions of
another nature. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This is exactly what I have already been trying. It keeps giving me a message
about the source currently evaluates to an error.

Jen, I have to admit it took me a couple of tries, but in the end I got it
to work following the procedures in the Web pages below. If you want, you
can send me your Excel files (sanitize if necessary), and I'll take a look
at them some time today. You can send to DDM at DDM Computing
dot
com.

I have finally gotten the list box to appear, it took a bit of work. I am now
having problems with the items that I want to have showing in the list box. I
am not sure why it only shows me a limited amount of items. Is there some
constraint that I am unaware of? Currently I have no blanks in between cells
and all of the items are listed consecutively, but it is only showing me part of
the list of items in the list box. Any ideas why?

Thank you!
