Just bought a minolta e323 .The hand book says Turn off camera /Turn on PC /connect camera to PC using USB /Turn on camera and transfer data
Getting behind my PC to plug in USB is difficult
Can I leave the USB plugged in to the PC and then plug into camera(with it switched off) when I need to transfer data. It is my first digital camera and I am proceeding slowl

Same here. I have done this for over a year. No problem as long as you
connect with your camera switched off.

Hello Gerald,

You can leave the USB cable in the computer all the
time, but you dont need to have the camera connected to
it all the time. The camera can be connect when turned
OFF to the USB cord. Once the camera is turned on to the
PREVIEW function ( this is how it is with Olympus Brand
at least ), the computer SHOULD find that the camera is
connected and let you get the pic on your PC. I hopr
this works.
