Hi,
I have recently encountered what seems to be a bug in Excel 2007. The
described probelm appeared abruptly, after previously behaving normally. I
have tried troubleshooting the problem for hours, but nothing seems to help:
I use the data table (what if analysis> data table) for sensetivity analysis
of a DCF model in regards to Discount rate and growth rate. Upon creation of
the table, the array fills correctly. however, when changing the value in any
of the precedents' cells (i.e growth rate/ discount rate), values in the
array do not recalculate, although the basic value (the one being analyzed)
does. In case I change another factor influencing the final value, other than
the two parameters of the table, table values does change. Noting, workbook
calculation in "excel options" is set to "auto".

As mentioned, this bug started abruptly, as previously everything was
working fine. I did however, witnessed this phenomenon on another computer
while the same workbook behaved normally on mine.
reparing the insallation came fuitile. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Adir

Hi ×דיר,

Sounds like calculation of tables has been set to manual (Office button, Excel
Options, Then find the right tab that lists the calculation options and check
the appropriate box).

Jan, I have a related but much more severe problem, with data tables, and
copy/move worksheets.

Copy/Move Worksheet problem:
I have a work sheet of 3 tabs. Each tab has a named table of about 1000 rows
x 110 columns. Each new tab is created from a bigger Excel 2003 worksheet. I
can add another 3 more similar tabs from Excel 2003 using Copy/Move worksheet
function. When I add the 7th tab, everything gets corrupted. The 6th tab is a
mix of the original data plus the new copied tab.

Then I get the next problem:

Data Table Problem:
I'm using INDIRECT function within the VLOOKUP function, and the answers are
all wrong. They were correct before I did Copy/Move from Excel 2003.

I'm an Excel power user and have been using Excel almost since it first came
out about 15 (?) years ago. The ribbon is great but these problems have
shaken my confidence in the 2007 version of Excel.

I can email the files if you need them.

Ben
