Data structure of Word documents

I wonder if there is a description of the file layout of a
Word document somewhere? Where do we find the macroes,
stiles, autotext and text f.ex.? Is there any delimiters
sectioning the documents and how?

??? To what purpose? Are you a programmer looking for Word's
BIFF (Binary File Format)? You have to request that from
Microsoft...

Hi NN

The file format for a .doc file is proprietary to Microsoft. However, if
you're using Word 2003, you can save a file as XML and last week
Microsoft released the schema for Word documents saved as WordML at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/xml/default.mspx.

When will an XSL for the final version of XML documents saved using Word 2003 come out? The only one on Microsoft's site is for the Beta version.
