I have had my computer for about 3 years, but I still
consider myself a novice. I still make mistakes that
cause me to lose data. I am a firm believer in backups.
However, if you don't know where the data is located, you
can't back it up.

My 2 questions are as follows: (1) Where does Outlook
Express store it's in-box emails, and (2) Where does
Microsoft Works Calendar store it's appointment/event
data?

I live in Tennessee, and we have a lot of severe thunder
storms in the spring and in the fall. When the
electricity goes out, I sometimes lose data. (Yes, I know
what to do about that. I have already ordered a UPS.

I would greatly appreciate someone furnishing me with the
requested information.

Thanks,

I don't have Works Calendar installed, so can't help there. For Outlook
Express, click Tools/Options/Maintenance button. Click the Store Folder
button and you will see the path to the location of the Outlook Express
folder where the files are stored. The files all have the <folder name>.dbx
extension.

Thanks very much for the help. I have three drives and
clone to two of them on a regular basis; however, if I
have significant activity in only two or three folders, I
just copy them to the other drives.

Thanks again,
