How do I set up my computer so that it automatically
saves my data input every say 10 minutes as I am in an
area where power cuts are frequent.

You can't. Some programs offer autosave, but applies to that program only. Buy a UPS that gives 10 minutes battery life and tells the computer to shut down (or hibernate) on power failure.

I don't think you need to save ALL your data every ten minutes because
most of it will not change every ten minutes. Just enable autosave in
Word (if that is what you use) and Excel, (find if your applications
have a similar function if you don't use Office) to save what you are
working on currently.
