Data saved in FAT file system

I saved selected data from Windows Me, zapped the drive
and made it a slave to a new larger one and installed
Windows xp on an NTFS file system. When I attempted to
access the CDs with the saved data, they showed both 0
bytes available and 0 bytes used. Do I have any options
to retreive the stored data other than to reformat with
the FAT 32 system and start from scratch again.

Not being able to read the CDs has nothing to do with your choice of file
system on the hard drives. The file systems used for CDs is a separate and
different element in this picture. It's also not unusual to have Explorer
report the space on the CD in the manner you describe, especially on CDR
disks.

What program was used to create the CDs? Is that program (or a version of
it that's suitable for XP) installed on the new setup? Is Explorer showing
any of the files on the CD?
