Data Ribbon Cable situation

I recently bought a new PC (a Gateway). Today, I opened my older computer
(a 3-year old Gateway) and removed its second, slave drive, so as to put it
in the new one for data transfer. It develops that my older Gateway has a
"Standard" Date Ribbon Cable, while the new one has what appears to be a
"Cable Select" model.

Is there a workaround for this difficulty?

Jumper the old drive for cable select

If you hadn't removed the drive yet I might've suggested to
network/share them instead... slower transfer of data but
total time spent could still be lower and/or easier.
