Data retrival from floppy disk

I did my '04 taxes using a tax program and when complete backed in up on a
floppy disk as recommended. Recently I mistakenly deleted the computer file
which I had for the tax return. When I inserted the floppy disk in the drive
all I got was a blank window. Is my data lost, or did I not do a necessary
step to retrieve the data off the disk?

Probably better off contacting the tech support for whatever tax program you
have.........
