Hello:

Is there any way to recover data from a hard drive when both File Allocation
Table & Partition Table have been destroyed.
Note, re-partitioning has been performed but NOT re-formatting. What
software is available to perform these tasks ?

Thanks

R-Studio is good. I believe they have a trial version so you can see if it
would retrieve anything. However, if the data is crucial and money is not a
factor, I would send the drive to a professional data recovery company. My
preference is for DriveSavers, www.drivesavers.com. Professional data
recovery is not cheap, costing anywhere from $500-3,500. Only you can
determine the value of your data.

TestDisk is a free system which you can try before spending more money
since most of the other recovery systems will let you see the data for
free but you need to pay to recovery the data.

There is recovery software, I usually use R-Studio. You must only host
the drive on another system that has mor than enough space for the recovered
files.

However, you need to stop and consider the value of the data. If the demo
tools you try don't find anything, you will need to take that drive - and an
explanation of what happened and what you tried - to a recovery service.
If you change anything on the drive, you reduce chances of recovery.

The bill from a recovery service will likely start at above $1000, they will
give an estimate of what they think they can recover, but that estimate may
not be free (since they have to do the first steps of the work to create the
estimate).

Try PC Recovery at: www.pcrecovery.com

You could try mounting the file system as NTFS read only on Linux and try to
access your data. Or as already mentioned R-studio is a great tool for data
recovery and it should do the job. If R-studio can not recover the data, then
it's time to send it to a Data Recovery company. I have used
http://www.datanalyzers.com successful in the past.

Good luck!
