Hi all,
Apologies if you get multiple copies of this post !!
My creative 1 GB flash disk got very hot a few seconds after plugging
to front USB port of my PC. Now, Neither my own PC nor others do
recognize it. windows does not detect at all that a USB device is just
plugged.
I think it is severely damaged but I'm looking for possible recovery of
the data on it.
Any comment is appreciated !

If the disk isn't recognized in multiple computers, you're not going to
be able to use data recovery software on it. You'd need to contact a
professional data recovery company like Drive Savers (my preference) or
Seagate Data Recovery. General prices run from $500USD on up for
recovering data from hard drives. I don't know what the prices are for
recovering data from other devices like yours, you'd need to call the
companies to find out. I understand that some insurance companies are
now covering data recovery charges under "Loss of Intellectual Property"
so check with yours.
