data on second hard drive

I would like to reinstall windows to get rid of a lot of gunk that may or may not be slowing my pc down, its running really slow at the moment, could I put games/photos etc on my installed second hard drive and save myself from reinstalling the lot after intalling xp again, thanks
 
You could put any data on there to save those, but any programs you have will have to be installed again as most put files into the registry etc. I would copy all your docs/photos/music etc on the second drive. Make sure you have all the disks to reinstall your programs then format and reinstall away. Also make sure you have the drivers for the graphics/sound/network etc.
