data missing from form

I have a subform linked to a main form with linked child and master fields.
When I enter data into the fields that are not linked, the data disappears in
these un-linked text fields when I go back to look at the record. However,
the data is in the table. Why is this happening?thanks!
 
Probably the best way to enable someone to track down what is going
wrong here is to give full details of the data. Are the subform and
main form based on tables or queries? If queries, can you post back
with the SQL view of the queries? If tables, can you post back with a
list of the significant fields in the tables? In both cases it would be
good to give an example of the data you are entering that is not showing
on the form. Thanks.
