Hi all,

I've been a fairly faithful user of Columbus
(http://columbus.arup.com) to manage my technical data generated by
several CAD packages. Columbus has available for free, but I'm afraid
they have succumbed to financial pressures and are transitioning over
to a paid product. There will still be a free version but it won't be
developed any further in the near future. I've got a lot of time tied
up in this application as I have written add-ins for my CAD packages
to allow Columbus to be more useful. Unfortunately I discovered a lot
of un-documented features (a.k.a. bugs) in this process and they were
promised to be fixed in the next version, but the next version is
commercial.

Alas, is anyone aware of something similar out there that may be
available under a GPL or other public license? I would rather not go
down this path again and would prefer something that couldn't be taken
commercial.

Thanks a lot for your assistance.

Anybody? I just wanted to give this a bump in case it was missed.

Thanks again!

What about asking in the various CAD groups? If anyone knows, the folk
in there are more likely.

There are many in comp.cad.* and alt.cad.*, as well as others, no doubt.

Cheers,
