Hello all together,

I hope that there is anybody here who knows solutions for my problem!

I planned to set up a new installation of Windows on my computer while my
old Windows-System (WindowsXP) was very slow and there where many
installations of hundreds of software that I don't need anymore.

Anyway I had to save about 35 GB of important data for my job and because it
was to complicate to burn everything on dvd I decided to copy it to another
hard disc drive on another computer (also Windowx XP)

So installed the hdd on the other computer and deleted c:\windows and
c:\programme. The reason for this was that I needed every data except from
these two directories.

After deletion of the two directories I selected all other folders and files
and started the copy process. When I came back after 30 minutes I realized
that the copy process couldn't proceed because the access to my user profile
directory (c:\dokumente und einstellungen\myname) was forbidden.

This is very awful because there are 30 GB of the 35GB needed to be stored
and backuped!

I didn't understand the reason why I have no access because I was logged on
as a administrator of the same workgroup as my own computer was.

Can you give me some hints how I will be able to get my data's back? I
urgently need them to proceed with my job.

Thanks ahead

Your new installation sees the backed up data as private,
even if you have the same passwords and account names, XP
security locks the data. Here is your answer,
