In the older version of Lotus 1-2-3 there was a way to
assign a range of data to act as the data label for data
marker/points in the chart. In Excel, all I can get is the
cell value to appear. Is there something comparable in
Excel.Help

I am trying to do the same thing--place labels on a chart from a neighboring column in a spreadsheet

Did you look at www.appspro.com and find the XY chart labeler as suggested
in response to Eric's post? Did it not work for you? Can you tell us how
it failed?

Yes, I was able to download that application from
appspro.com - it worked like a charm. This is a problem
I've struggled with for it seems years, finally solved!
