data in form field

I have created an invoice form and one field is RECAP Date. I would like to
have that date automatically populated the form, no mousing or drop down. I
have a table where the date can be entered for that period covered and I
would like to have that date appear when ever that form is openned in the
data entry mode
 
You don't tell us what you want in this date. How do you know what the
"recap" date is? Give us more details.

WE have a new recap date every two weeks, ususally a friday. We enter a lot
of invoices per week and most have the same recap date. I would like staff
to be able to set the recap date and have it automatically poplulate the
Invoice date entry form. Now I have a separate table for recap date which is
a "Lookup" table in the Invoice table. I did this so I could create a simple
form for staff to create a new recap date instead of going into the
propertiies sheet for Recap date and change the default. SO I have a data
table just for Recap Date which is in a Form based on the A/V Order Invoice
data table. Right now it is a drop down, TOO much of a hassel, need to be
automatic and easly updated by staff, without going into the actual table's
properties sheet.
