My problem is a dumb one, but none-the-less upsets a employee when his name is misspelled. His Data file is spelled Mathew with one t instead of two t's and I am trying to find out if I can change the name of the data file without losing information. Main problem is that when he sends out email it puts his name as Mathews <email address>. I would appreciate any help on this.

Thank You,

Will

Are you using Exchange server?

There are two issues here, as I see it - the display name, which is
unrelated to the 'data file' name - if not using Exchange, modify this in
his internet mail settings in Outlook.

For the data file - do you mean the name of the pst file itself, or the
display name of same? For the former, rename it in Explorer with Outlook
closed and then direct Outlook to the new file name when it complains. For
the latter, right click on the root level folder, go to properties,
advanced, and I think you can rename the PST display name in there.

I am using Exchange 2003, and it is the display name that I am trying to get changed. Though I noticed that the datafile is also messed up when I migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. I am not quite clear on how to fix this becuase I am just learning Exchange 200

Thank You

Will
