I found out about this functionality recently and went through Control Panel
to investigate the settings. I changed the default setting so that all
programs were covered by the functionality but soon found that I didn't like
the constant messages and program closures. So, I changed back to the default
setting. Now, every time I use Internet Explorer, I get a warning message "to
help protect this computer, Windows is closing this program (Internet
Explorer). It doesn't happen on any other program. I am running SP3, IE 8 and
Kaspersky Internet Security. Any idea how I can stop the warning messages?

That'll teach you to mess with something that's working just fine ;-)
(Wish I had a dollar for every time I did that!)

Have you tried resetting IE? You'll lose any custom settings you have, but
it may be worth a shot.

Is it definitely a Windows error message and not one from Kaspersky?
Kaspersky may have to have IE's settings revised. I'm not familiar with
Kaspersky, so I can't tell you how to do that.

Thanks for responding. When you say "resetting IE" do you mean re-installing?
