Hello,

When i open a table to view/amend the data on my database (to which data has
been entered in via forms), the fields appear blank until you click on them,
then they display the data. How can I get the data to appear permanently?

Thanks.

There is a problem with the way your screen is being drawn.

You could try choosing a different font under:
Tools | Options | Datasheet | Font
Perhaps Arial or a known good font.

If that does nothing, I suspect a problem with your video card driver. You
might be able to work around it if you right-click the Windows desktop,
choose Properties, and the Settings tab. Click the Advanced button. On the
Troubleshoot tab, set Hardware Acceleration to None. (These steps are for
Windows XP.) If that works, updating your video driver should solve the
problem.

Thanks Allen,
Neither of those worked. I think I should have pointed out that some of the
data in the fields are visible, while some of it isn't. Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

Can you tell us anything about the fields that have missing data?

For example, do they use combo boxes?
What data type are these fields? Text? Number? Memo?

Never seen anything like that.

If you are certain you have a standard Window font, that the video driver is
not faulty, that these fields are not combos with a hidden bound field, that
the fields are Number type and Single size, without any format or input mask
to hide the values, and you can reproduce this on multiple machines, you
have a bug that I have certainly never seen.

If anyone else has a suggestion, please chip on.

Otherwise you might need to open a support incident with Microsoft, and
provide them with a copy of the faulting database.

Hi,

The fields are set as Numbers and the field size is Single with 2 decimal
places. These fields are used to capture monetary estimates by the
respondents so will vary in size. There are several fields with this
structure and some data shows up and some doesn't (!).

So far the answers are 3 to 4 digits mostly.

All the other fields are showing up (the ones using combo and checks).

Thanks!

Just as an FYI, I was able to figure this out. Turns out that if I changed
all my fields to 'Decimal' and then changed them back to 'Single' they would
then be visible in the fields....STRANGE!

Thank you for posting the solution.

Perhaps this was Access 97: data of type Decimal would disappear in that
version.
