data disappears

I'm a new user of PP and am attempting to link data from Excel to a slide.
I've managed to create the links, but the data on the PP slide disappears
whenever I click outside the border of the data. Is this normal? What can I
do to make it stop?

No, this isn't normal, unless perhaps you're linking e.g. data formatted black
onto a slide with a black background.
 
I meant to say the data disappears whenever I click INSIDE the border, not
outside. Does that make a difference. My data doesn't have a black background.

I suppose the good news is that this isn't normal either.

I don't know what might be causing it, but can you try the same file on another
computer? It might be an oddity of your video drivers.
