I have been wrestling with this one for quite a while and it has me
stumped.
Whenever I load certain worksheets it causes Subtotal and Text to
Columns to behave strangely.
If I try to subtotal the worksheet loses focus and I can not regain
it. If I try to do Text-to-Columns it takes forever (it usually does
finally work)
If I unload the offending sheets from memory then I have no problems.
I have examined the code in the "problem" sheets but I do not see any
problems.
Even stranger is this phenomenon:
If I create a brand new workbook with no code at all, then copy some
cells from one of the "problem" workbooks to it I then save the new
file , exit Excel completely and restart, the new file creates the
same problems. The cells that were copied had no special formatting or
other features that would seem to cause problems.
Once the "problem" sheets are unloaded from memory I have no problems
at all- I do not have to exit Excel and restart to make the problem go
away.
Anyone that could shed some light on this will have my undying
gratitude
