I am developing a database in Access 2000, having been
using XP for ages...
Whenever I try to search the helpfile for anything related
to DAO, it says;

'Selection is not associated with any topic, Please try
another selection.'

One example is the CreateTableDef Method. If I serach for
it, it appears in the 'Choose a topic' box, but nothing
happens whn I click on it. If I select Methods Reference,
and click on CreateTableDef, I get the above message...

I have tried repairing Access Installation, but no change.

Is this normal for Access 2000? Is there a helfile update
or something?

Thanks

Nick

In your VB editor, from the main menu, select
Tools/References and add the Microsoft DAO 3.X Object
Library.

No, it is not common for Access to do that. I have
experienced similar problems while searching for
information on ADO.
You are probably missing (or they may be corrupted) dll /
help files. One place to look for is C:\Program
Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO to check if you
have dao360.dll installed. Another path may be
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\1033.
The best thing may be run search for DAO to verify that
all available libraries are present and then add/replace
the ones that are missing/corrupted. I have found 5 on
my PC:
dao360.dll
msdaora.dll
msdaorsr.dll
msdaosp.dll
DAO360 (AWFile)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. The references are intact - I should
have mentioned that I can USE the methods, I just can't
get help on any of them...
