I have a project that I need to turn on the DAO library for, but it is not in
the references list. I have another database that when I open it I can see
and it is turned on. But I can't find DAO 3.6 object library in the
tools->references list to turn it on in this project. How can I get it in
the list so that it can be turned on?

What version of Access are you using? If you're using Access 2007, I
believe that you must use the Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine
Object Library -- or something like that -- instead.

Access 2003. What's wierd is it is in the list of all of my other MDBs at
this company, just not this one.

Pardon what may seem an obvious questions, but are you sure you're looking
for it in the right place in the list? The full name is "Microsoft DAO 3.6
Object Lilbrary".

I don't have it in front of me right now, but I'm pretty sure I looked for it
both ways. However, in my other MDBs it is listed just as DAO 3.6 object
library. I will look again to make sure.

I've never seen it referred to as DAO 3.6 Object Library: it's always had
the Microsoft label in front.

You are correct. I didn't have it in front of me at the time. I thought I
had written it down exactly, but I did leave off the Microsoft. I also
thought that I had looked for it both ways, but amazingly enough I found it
yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking last week.
