I recently bought Symantec's Systemworks 2004 and had many
problems installing successfully. In an attempt to
uninstall I had to go into the registry to delete keys
(suggested by a FAQ in Symantec's knowledge base). In the
process both my recyle bin and the Recycle folder on my
C:drive got deleted. I tried running Windows repair from
my installation CD but it didn't restore the Recycle bin.
Is there anything I can do short of re-installing Windows
2K from Scratch?

Thanks for anyone's help.

If you have C:\Recycler then after a few reboots it should reappear. This was a result of the Norton Protected Recycle Bin. Why that is still around dunno but it is. Even without C:\Recycler it should still come back. What happens when you double-click on the Recycle Bin after the reboot?

If this doesn't do it then after the reboot put your Windows 2000 CD-ROM in the drive and Start | Run | cmd | OK | sfc /purgecache | <ENTER>

Let that finish and reboot with the CD-ROM in the drive but do nothing as the screens come up till you get to the Windows 2000 Logon.
