Am using outlook 2000 with a win98 laptop, and have a damaged .pst file.
When I attempt to open folders and/or emails within the inbox of this file,
the entire system freezes (cntrl-alt-del doesn't even work), and end up
needing to reboot. I ran the Outlook 2000 .pst repair file on this file,
however, it had no effect. Is there any other tool to method to use to
repair this .pst file? Have tried importing the .pst file into other
outlook 2000 clients, and the exact same problem ends up happening, thus the
root problem must be a damaged pst. thanks in advance for any assistance.

With pst-repair you mean scanpst.exe? If this tools can't find or fix the
errors the pst-file is very likely beyond repair.

How big is your PST file? You may also check out the

On this page is also mentioned the use of Scandisk.exe
and the PST2GB tool (along with some others).
