I'm running SBS2000 with Win2000 clients.

One particular user has a problem with Symaneic Act 6, it crashes whilst
expending groups.

The problem is tied to the user profile, not a machine.

Any ideas how I might repair the profile ?

Also any pointers to some documentation on profile structure and replication ?

Regards

I would rename the profile, thus forcing a new profile to be created.

Have you tried uninstalling Act 6, restarting the computer, and installing Act 6?
