Damaged Accounts

The system cannot find the file specified. This is what
I get when I open User accounts in Control Panel.
Related symptom: when a user logs off, the system hangs
and reboot is required. How do I go about repairing this?

It doesn't say. I gave you the entire text of the
diagnostic. Since I am unable to edit any user account
information, I would infer that some element of the data
structures for user accounts is somehow damaged. The
users are still known by the system and they can log on
but any attempt to change user account information fails.

Here's a little more data: If I user Computer Management
and open Groups under Local Users and Groups I see a
variant of the message: "The following error ocurred while
attempting to read group properties: The system cannot
find the file specified." After clearing the message 3
times, the following groups appear: Administrators,
Guests, HelpServicesGroup. There are supposed to be more
default groups than that, aren't there?

I have exactly the same problem. If you got any solution to this
problem please let me know.
Thanks
