Anyone that can help:

I saw a post that was done at a google groups about a problem caused
by a program called trafficworks that is downloaded often by accident
that then controls browser function when doing a google search, or any
search engine search, etc. It causes another web page to pop up etc.

Well, I had a similar problem with traffic works – I downloaded it
because the company was trying to show me how great it was to
advertise on their network. What a mistake!!!

I found out though that I was able to uninstall in the add/remove
programs in XP and was able to uninstall it.

The problem is – after I uninstalled it – most java links and some
other links don't work when using Microsoft Explorer 6.0 (or any other
version). Thus when I am on numerous web pages, many links dont work
at all. It is hard to characterize exactly which are the ones that
done work - but for sure the java links dont work and it seems
anything a little different than a basic html link does not work.

When I reinstalled the program it seemed to fix the problem – but I
couldn't stand having the program on my machine so uninstalled and now
have been trying for months to figure out how to fix my browser
problem.

I have completely reinstalled Explorer 6.0 and did all windows updates
again –

STILL – many links don't work (and they do work on every other
computer I go to). Thus I know this is not a site problem, rather a
problem with my computer, os, or browser - what exactly I dont know.

Do you have any thoughts about what got screwed up in my computer by
this traffic works program?

I have run adaware and spybot and it doesn't fix the problem. Or maybe
I have another problem and don't realize how it got there or what it
is – but it is crippling my use of the web browser when clicking on
any java link especially.

Thanks for anyones help if you can?

Tom,
Reinstall this traffic works or whatever it's called .....
Make *sure* SpyBot is updated, then run a scan .......
Fix everything marked in red, then reboot.
