Daily Cost & Cums

Spreadsheet currently has "Daily Costs" only (1 wksheet/day/saved wkbook). I want to capture on 1 wksheet the current daily cost (entered manually) & have whksheet calc/list a cum cost-to-date per expense item.

You can use syntax like Sum(sheet1:sheet30!a3) to get numbers from specific
cells on those other worksheets.
 
My costs are saved in 168 (and increasing) workbooks (I do not have all cost data in one file/workbook. Outside of creating an Access database for the daily costs and of which I know just enough to become really frustrated, I thought that entering the data manually in one worksheet and having that one worksheet calc a new cum cost-to-date after every entry would be simpler. Your thoughts...
 
There are people here who can probably help you more than I can, but some
more details on the layout of the data would be helpful, as well as some
sample numbers and what value you would want to be calculated based on those
sample numbers.

You can also search google on how to calculate from cells in closed
workbooks, and that will show you that part.
