this might be a daft request but is there a piece of software that will
recognise if you have 2 pictures that are identical, i dont mean the same
size i mean the actual picture itself "as in" say 2 pics of the mona lisa.
If you use Windows 2000 or earlier, Flasher will let you compare the
images for yourself, visually. It puts them into a side by side split screen
view, where you can resize one of them until both are approximately
the same size, and/or scroll one vertically and/or horizontally until
approximately aligned. You can then switch to an "Overlay" view,
where both images occupy the same space. In Overlay view, you
can toggle quickly between images - this causes the portions that
are different to flicker. It's sort of like the "movies" kids make by
drawing pictures on the edges of book pages, then letting the pages
fall open one after the other. It handles multipage tiff images, bmp,
jpg, etc. Download from

If you use Windows XP, you will not be able to use it unless you
purchase the Eistream Windows Professional Imaging software.
The standard version of this shipped free with Windows 2000
and earlier, and Flasher uses an OCX that comes with it.
