Why is someone still replying to this "person"
Can someone not recognize a troll??
You will find his posts all over the Vista Groups as well as the XP groups
and the tone is always the same.
He asks a reasonable question....you reply nicely.....he replies with a
negative comment and the battle begins.
He is off his medication...do not encourage....let him die an
unread/unanswered death

I couldn't agree more. I've long had him killfiled here, so the only times
I get to see his messages are when they are (unfortunately) quoted by
others.

He is clearly a troll of the worst kind. He has no interest in either
acquiring or providing information, but simply delights in stirring up
arguments. The long-established best way to deal with a troll is to ignore
him--either by killfilling him or simply not replying to his messages.Trolls
thrive on replies, because they are fodder for their continued arguments.
Don't reply to a troll, don't give him the opportunity to argue, and he will
eventually get bored and go somewhere else to troll.

Those people who reply to him, try to explain things to him, reason with
him, and rebut his arguments are undoubtedly well-intentioned, but their
effect is only to encourage his further posting, and further arguments. If
everyone were to killfile him, these newsgroups would be a better place.

If you want to get him where it hurts without responding to him, report him
here:

Re: 63.16.7.184 (Administrator of network where email originates)
To: (e-mail address removed)

Enough reports and he'll lose his accounts and have to move to another ISP
even though he keeps changing his nicks.

Course, if you've killfiled him, he'll come back with another username until
they nuke his accounts and it'll take a bunch of complaints to get him
nuked.
I only report spammers; trolls are too easy to ignore. And I don't
believe in killfiles; not necessary since my own brain can ignore people
easily. Trolls know enough to rotate thru nicks, even the smartest ones,
the onces closest to the snake belly.

would be nice to find some way to filter out all the spammy krap in all
these fine newsgroups I love :)
