I just had a my seceond son and we took pictures with my digital camera
of the whole event. When I got home from the hospital I tranfered
images to my HP Laptop. I later tryed putting them on a disk so that I
could go have them printed out and it won't let me save them, when i go
to save them to a disk it reads d:\ not accessible. It would also be
nice too have just in case my computer crashes. Please help me fix this
problem, those are the only pictures that I have of my son. My computer
is doing funny stuff like shutting down on it's own even if I am on it
and in the middle of something, so I want to fix this before it crashes
like it has in the past. Please & Thank you

It sounds like hardware failure. Since the pictures are extremely
important, pull the hard drive and put it in an external drive
enclosure. Attach to a working XP box and transfer the pictures. Burn
to cd/dvd from the working XP box.

If you don't have the ability to do this, take the laptop to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA). Do not use the laptop until you do this or you run the
risk of losing your pictures. The shop can also do a diagnosis on your
laptop after they've retrieved the data.
