The D-link Airplus client utility stopped working after
installing the Microsoft D-Link Network Adapter Software
DLL update. The wireless connection is still working but
the Client Utility icon in the system tray indicated no
connection and says "no card found". Will be a problem
when trying to use my laptop on other wireless networks as
can't make configuration changes (WEP, SSID, etc...) I
have an IBM Thinkpad laptop (600x) with D-Link DI-624 AP.

I suggest you avoid ever installing driver updates from Windows Update -
always get the manufacturer's most recent version. Go to the Dlink website
and download it, and apply it in Device Manager.

When I downloaded the new driver from windows update, my card quit
working, too. But the only problem was the card was reset to defaults.
After reapplying my WEP password and SSID, I was back in business.

What solved it for me was to reinstall the software (which didn't
solve it by itself) but then put the card into the other slot. Only
then did it say 'found new hardware' and offer to write an older file
off the CD on top of newer (but faulty) files on the hard drive, which
had been installed by Windows update. Can't swear this would work for
everyone, and the tech guy on the phone seemed pretty clueless. D-Link
should definitely get on MS to stop putting that driver on WIndows
Update -- it's a real problem to fix.
