D-Link Ethernet Broadband Router

Hi, I am using a D-Link (non-wirless) Broadband Router. Recently I moved and changed from High-Speed To Cable. In my Internet connection, The Gateway connections are jumpy (speed). It flickers from "Not Available" To any random BPS. Example: Not Available > 60.0 bps > 700.0 bps > Not Available > 2.0 bps > so on and so forth.

This is REALLY affecting the performance with the internet and downloading. If there is anything else you need to know, please tell me and I'll gladly help you help me.

If this is a technical issue, you will probably get help much faster
in comp.dcom.modems.cable.

I'm hoping it's not the nature of cable broadband that's causing your
symptoms. With DSL Broadband (is that what you meant by
"High-Speed"?) the link between you and the internet is dedicated to
you - so you and only you can overload the link and cause the jumpy
speed that you're describing. With Cable Broadband, you share the
link between you and the internet with your neighbors, and your
neighbors could overload the link and cause these symptoms. If that's
the case, only your cable company can remedy the situation.

But give the experts in cdmc a shot - there may be a signal problem
that they can help you diagnose.
