Hi,
* Move your personal data and internet downloads to D:\ (Using Windows Explorer, but be sure you move only your personal stuff, not the Windows system files)
* Clear all but one system restore snapshots using "Cleanmgr". This frees up enormous space in C:
To clear the System Restore points, Click Start/Run/Cleanmgr / More Options / system restore /cleanup.
To redirect/move your My Documents folder to D:\ drive, see:
Change the Default Location of the My Documents Folder
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310147
(You can also relocate other shell folders such as My Documents, Favorites, Music, etc using TweakUI)
Further, you need to have a clear view on what is occupying the disk space. You may consider using a third-party program like TreeView, DiskDATA or DiskPie2 which presents you the disk space occupied by each folder in a Pie Chart.
