have lost access to my Laptop Harddisk. Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated. I was 1st getting where it
would not boot up. I would start to load the windows 2000
Pro interface and then the following message would come
up..

System Shut down
This shutdown was initiated by NT Authority/System...
(1min count down, then reboot to this endless loop)

The System process c:\winnt\system32\services.exe
terminated unexpectedly with a status code of 128. The
system will now shut down.

I was continually getting this error as the pc
continually restarted.
Now I don't even get that far. Now it tries to start up
and then gets a Blue Screen Stop Error as follows...

Stop: 0x000007b, 0x817dd5f0, oxc0000102
Inaccessible_Boot_Device

Then it finally booted to Windows but I have no d drive.
There is some references to D:.....but it says it has
been moved or removed...I have a feeling it is still
there but don't know what utility may get to it. I would
hate to lose all my data...Thanks...

This is windows 2000 Pro. SP4. There has been no Software
or Hardware newly added and I cannot find my Windows 2000
Pro CD at the moment. I think if I can find a way to boot
to a: or CD I might be able to switch to the c and d
drives to save my data.

It sounds like you are having a serious file system problem and maybe a
hardware problem with a potential failing hard drive. I am assuming the
D drive is just a seperate partition since we are talking about a
laptop. You want to check out what Disk Managment shows. If you right
click on My Computer and choose Manage you can click on Disk Managment.
What does it show?
