This year promises to be the worst yet. Identity thieves are expected to
steal more than $1 trillion. Cybercriminals are making so much money-more
than the illegal drug trade last year, according to the U.S. Treasury-that
they've been doing their own R&D.

Hi Bob

Scary !

Seems to be a good affair to invent a
spywarescanner...... ;)

Maybe to download VB and start to built one.

No one protect a user.

Anonymous Bob presented following :

Hello Plun,

I download Spyware Stormer just for fun and at the install the only
program that wants to stop that is Trends Anti Spyware!!!
Says not trusted company. Install it anyway and yes he found 13 very
dangerous items, all Fresch Download related, i use it for years!
So that's how it works, just pick a program and say it's Dangerous
Spyware and there are the customers!
So again never use 1 vendor for realtime protection, Venus Spytrap try
to stop me at install and no other even PC-Cillin did nothing ;)

Hi Tom

Watch out for Smitfraud......... ;)

Well, "Venus spytrap" is built in PC Cillin 2006 within
the antispyware module as I understands it.

So I am only using PC Cillin, there is also a difference
between PC Cillin Internet Security 2006 and PC Cillin 14.

I am running Internet Security version and probably also you ?

About all damned frauds and rouges I recommends thats MS definition
engineers take Spywarewarriors list and put them all as unwanted
software from top to bottom.

This is totally crazy to trick users to install and pay for this junk.

Urrrk....... ;(

It happens that Tom Emmelot formulated :

Hello Plun,

You say:
Well, "Venus spytrap" is built in PC Cillin 2006 within
the antispyware module as I understands it.
And that what the told me but it is not truth!!
Venus Spytrap blocks a lot of things and asking my approval that MSAS
and PC Cillin 2006 not do, some times MSAS and Venus do the same thing,
and some times PC Cillin 2006 and MSAS do the same. But the Venus
Spytrap always does some thing when MSAS does something, most of the
time 1 Venus than MSAS!
So I keep my Venus to look for me! ;)

Hi Tom

Aha

Well again, I tested the Venus trap last year and it was
too much with 3 real time protection apps.
If you remembers my little Aurora test the Venus trap was
also running.

But I have been wondering about the anti spyware module within
PC cillin what purpose it has, a scan takes seconds ;)

So I don´t want to pay for this Venus until I sees how MSAS Beta2
and Defendern will work.

I have tested Defendern with Vistan and maybe it´s good but MS
has really cut everything within the UI, a "massacre".
Nearly nothin "under the hood" to explore and change settings for.

So maybe a Venus is better ;)

Tom Emmelot formulated the question :

Hi Tom

Tested and confirmed.........

Also asked TMs support:

"Product:
- PC-cillin Internet Security
Antivirus: yes
Anti-spyware: limited"

Advertisment for PC Cillin:

http://www.trendmicro.com/en/products/desktop/pc-cillin/evaluate/overview.htm

Key Features

* Comprehensive Antivirus Security
* Powerful Spyware Protection
* Phishing Fraud Defense
* Wi-Fi Intrusion Detection
* Improved Spam Filtering
* Enhanced Personal Firewall
* Home Network Control

hmmm ? "Powerful Spyware Protection".

"Horse feathers" everywhere.......... ;)

MSAS is enough for basic protection, PC Cillin takes the trojans
and I knows where to ask ;)
